Not to get all grammar Nazi here, but technically there is an occasion in which stuffs is the proper term for a plural. I refer to of course, foodstuffs, which can indicate a plurality of food items.

That doesn't apply here in context with your comment, but is just another example of how janky English can be.

True. But foodstuffs is its own word independent from just "stuff"

It still does demonstrate that english has no consistency in how it applies rules to words of similar composition and structure though.

Dude's naming sense made me laugh quite a lot. Caroline is now Carol. In my country, Carol is a male name. Logan will be Debug.Log :ROFLMAO:, and Sophia will be Sophie. WTF even changed in the length? Is there really any significant difference between Sophia and Sophie in Japanese?1

It's okay. We live in a world so diverse that we cannot expect a Japanese author to know all of its details. In the language of my country, for example, “Dura” (the family name of the main character) is a noun meaning “fool”, and it has feminine grammatical gender.

Of course there is.

You seem to have forgotten for a moment the fact you have learnt from all the manga and anime: Japanese write every Western name as a sequence of vowels. The name “Sophia” consists of three vowels (“so”, “fi”, “a”), the name “Sophie” uses only two (“so” and “fi”) and thus the latter is shorter to write.

(It's also shorter to pronounce in the middle of a battle — both in Japanese and in English — and that was the point.)

Caroline is like a tree: lively on the outside, completely dead inside.

Page 46 is more disturbing than it should be....
