The funny thing is getting their ass kicked now is probably going to end better for them in the long run than if they had actually made it back to the guild with the poachers. Who would believe they legitimately beat Rein at tracking and capturing someone? Who would believe them over Rein when he would have returned and stated their actions to the guild? Yeah these two Rank C's are more trustworthy than a guy who saved a city from a DEMON and is only C rank because raising his rank any higher that rapidly(even if deserved) would cause Rein and the guild more issues than it is worth in the short term. They'd probably be facing heavy sanction if not outright expulsion whereas now they'll experience pain but Rein will probably not report their actions to the guild.

Those two idiots feel so needlessly petty and shallow at this point. It's hard to feel any sympathy for them when they act like they're justified in literally breaking rules to succeed, and then when they're caught, they proceed to double down and try to pick a fight with people who outnumber and outpace them in combat.
