@jokerxhisoka: yeah there are a LOT of missing exposition here. Why did he go hunting without a tamed beast? He doesn't know anything about the adventures guild? Did the party never stop in a city? Why are we arm wrestling? Why did cat girl offer to become a tamed beast? Why is she so proud of that fact? What does that even do for her? She's a person with her own ego, doesn't that just subvert free will? Does this make her a slave? Author, please explain. TL, thank you for bringing us these questions.

@TTX When did her human ears get shown? I'm usually on the lookout for four-ears situations, but didn't notice any in this.

@Darris : Missing exposition is common in adaptations, as if you care you will pick up the source. It lets the manga be more streamlined. These are not really meant to be the only source material the reader has access to. That and expecting everything to be answered immediately is idiotic.

A bunch of those questions are actually answered in the novel, it has been a while since I read the first bit of rhe WN but
His back story comes up later and explains a few things (like why he and the hero party are not aware he is not a standard tamer, but a massive upgrade from the rest, cat girl does have some knowledge as can be seen in her reaction the first few times she sees him use his abilities)

He has never been part of the guild. the hero party are not members, and operate independently of the guild.

He tends to make temporary contracts with the local fauna, so would normally pick up something mid quest, if there was nothing good for combat in the immediate area why bother.

The girl offered boobies, though seriously you will see what she gives him after the arm wrestling, which is partly to give an opertunity to demonstrate what she gives him.

Muscle heads and pier pressure combined with male ego explain the arm wrestling, it is better to accept and lose then reject and be labeled a coward/ostracized. Especilly if he might need to join adventurer parties in the future or interact with other adventures.

isn't this like asking for a duel between a warrior and a mage. They have their own role, weakness and advantages. Well i wont be surprised if he got some kind of power-up because of the contract. just another fantasy cliche.

Strong beast tamer —> can win an arm wrestle match
I don’t live in a fantasy world, but I’m pretty sure that’s not how that works. From the sounds of it all he needs to do is prove he formed a contract with her (since that’s the point of the match). There’s a whole mark on his hand for that. Regardless why does the muscle brain think the cat girl will go with him even if he wins the match?

So why is he betting the cute cat girl and the other guy nothing? What does he get out of this? Why would he agree to this at all...

If you can't explain the situation in the manga, then it's pointless...

2nd, even the so called explanation in the novel is dumb.

3rd, why is the cat girl so dumb, telling everyone that info about herself? I mean, her just randomly willing to serve someone is stupid too... but, hey, plot...

Wow. So much dumb progressions being crammed into one chapter. The cat girl was retarded enough to tell the whole world that her man is so good at enslaving her; as if that is something to be boasted about.

And then there's a thug who challenged a beast tamer with arm wrestling claiming "If you can tame a cat girl that means you are physically strong" What kind of absurd logic is that? How did he come with that conclusion?

Seriously. Nothing makes any sense in this story. How the f*ck did this get serialized or having anyone following this at all, I wonder?

Thanks for the chapter!
Gee, another one sided provocation. So if MC loses the thug gets the cat girl, but what equivalent value does he get for winning other than showing he's worthy of being with her? Or is the bond between them allow him to draw on her physical power as well as command her? I don't think he's going to be commanding her much as her master rather than treating her as an equal partner. Wonder why she was so excited about him commanding her? You'd think most people would be afraid of being magically bound to obey somebody they just met.

This is literally a whole different terf than beast taming he has no reason to agree just flash the tame mark on her hand + how is he gonna give her awat she's obviously her own person and regardless they never talked about if its possible to break a bond and lastly its nothing in it for him besides ig bragging points thst he already has for taming a cat clan member. The only way he wins is because the manga gave that hint of him actually being strong by saying defeating goblins was so easy but its whatever
