This childhood friend is just one huge contradiction. A hero killer part of a huge underground organization that is going against a powerful cult, yet has zero information on the MC but has info on the hero which he was in a party with until recently. Hates the cult for kill her friends, but is doing the same thing, or even worse actions than what the cults show to have done. Her so called comrades she doesn’t even bat an eyelid when they die but mets a childhood friend who is supposed to be dead and freaks out like crazy?

I’m just super confused at what this character is supposed to be.

Let's not forget the inexplicable immense power, able to bring down Orn like he was nothing more than a patchy; it is hilarious because the dude doesn't just have the MC badge, he's genuinely strong and has worked hard to get there.

I fucking hate her character and I really wish the author has the balls to make Orn actually hate her instead of forgive her and make her part of his imminent harem. Most annoying shit in the manga storytelling world.

Okay so, call me a noob at storytelling, but how exactly is that a bad thing? Iirc, didn't the same thing happened with Fairy Tail? (Zeref, cults, etc.)

I hate to be that girl but, fairy tail is also a great example of poor writing most of the time..
And the annoying plot point here is largely that the super duper turbo ultra strong childhood friend girl is part of a cult and is a serial murderer, was just lied to, and has no idea nor will question that she's part of a cult because they've got "the other cult" to fight... it's just a total mess.
Also this new childhood friend girl is gonna be so annoying to watch interact with the this wannabe aizen guy childhood friend/older brother cult leader same dynamic as with the luna or runa or whatever girl from the hero party with her dad.
I knew this wasnt anything to write home about but I didn't expect the headrush straight into the dumpster we got with this plot

And it gets worse too, cause we learned that his power is actually some bs asspull shit he magically taps into. Undoing all the effort, he's mediocre without this secret sealed power shit.. which of course she knows about along with the cult. She's also clearly far stronger than him, but now we get to see him get another asspull power up from somewhere breaking the seal or something because of course they have to shift the power scaling back around the correct order.. so dumb

There's no way that mc forgive his childhood friend she's fucked up after they what they did to his innocent student even if she explain to him her group motives they're straight up murderers they didn't care if the victims are influenced by "cult". I mean they're no different with the other cult.

This is actually one of my favorite mangas. I am ambivalent about getting any pitchfork yet. Yeah the story is fucked up with that girl killing kids to target tools of the cult. They even announced in their dialogue "this is making us sound like the bad guys". And being so consumed with revenge against a 'world ending' cult, for a single person's sake, that you not only are willing to silence fatally the kids, but then immediately drop your mission and let them escape when it is that single person you're avenging. Completely fucked up and confused. And definitely surprising she drops the topic so fast that the guy knew where Orn was and immediately does some mission. You'd think she'd try to convince Orn to join her.

And yes, I don't like the introduction of hidden talents/powers for the sake of scaling. Let the MC take the L and work hard to get better. It seems unnecessary except as an insurance policy for plot armor, and to convince the reader that Orn could have won.

Now claiming that Orn is a tool of the cult, while Orn was kicked out of the party and Oliver was explicitly recruited to the cult: the only development on this that's memorable is the lady in the hero party acting sus. Then the nobles all act like Orn didn't mean shit. Are they going to reveal later Orn was recruited, had powers sealed, and afflicted with a mind control spell that he will later fight against? This cult has evaded so much exposition to the reader, the impression is it is supposed to be scary; but the manga has Orn say he can easily beat Oliver, and Oliver is somehow a key to their plan - enough to force a showmatch.

The author has handled redemptions well, as evidenced by the emotionally believable actions before this shit show; so it is possible the story ends up making sense.

Woah so MC is actually even more OP? His power currently being sealed and all. And this evil org is so stupid. They're killing every strong adventurers instead of directly attacking the evil cult.
