Hero: Are you saying that I am lower than a D rank adventurer?

Well, well, Mr. Hero, truth and reality hurt like a pair of biatches, ain't it? Especially when those kick you right in your face, to your teeth up front? Like it? Hahahaha :sneaky:

Pretty much confirmed he will get the stuff(well duh) even if it was supposed to be handed to the kingdom! Luckily no one else can touch it and our MC will, probably, get support by those heroes from his teacher party!
The staff maker is innocent! It's not his fault others are useless, greedy or morons incapable of controlling their magic!
Git gud noobs! :smug:

So, this is a staff with minimum level and/or attribute requirements that we often encounter in RPGs. Finally this trope makes some sense.
Must say, the whole staff concept is pretty cool but what the hell is the deal with this 'storage magic' and why are they making such a big deal out of it?
Storage magic is rare in this setting. Apparently, it was recently (re)discovered by MC's teacher. Who is the best magic-user in the setting.

Thinking about it the other way, storage magic is part of spatial magic, that includes spells such as teleportation. Which are special enough that nobody in the dungeon conquest group had any, and they did not even think of teleporting out of the dungeon when things started going badly. And when they had to transport the princess, the noble could not arrange for a teleportation spell either.
Maybe spatial magic is just hard to grasp, because space is a very abstract thing for pseudo-medieval people. While sci-fi people who are used to space-warping starships would be able to grasp it intuitively.

Why does everyone keep confusing guild ranks meaning skill level when it also means length of time with guild.
Yes he is only a D rank, but he also only recently joined the guild and they can't up someone's rank too fast regardless of skill level.

So the arachne really was the final boss. Don't tell me Lloyd is gonna try to sell or give away the staff despite being specifically chosen by it to become the wielder.

Some of these characters are just plain stupid for having all these hangups over adventurer rank. Ranks change anyway, it's not an absolute measurement of power like the numbers a DBZ scouter will tell you. Rather than an outright measurement of power it's more a measurement of how valuable one's contributions are to the guild: through the missions they finish, how long they've been helping the guild and how much the guild trusts them.

Power level is only implied from the difficulty of the missions. I'm sure adventurers stronger than what their rank implies can deliberately choose not to do rank up tests and just keep picking easier missions if they wanted to.
