The saint aside, the two other women, archer and magician, I believe, should ditch the hero and hit the road, while they still can. They ought to have realised by now the hero is a faux hero. If they are unlucky, they are already pregnant, by the hero, but I'm sure there's a black magician around somewhere who could sort that out. They might have been justified, to a degree, in supporting firing the peeping Tom white magicians (the MC), but after their recent failure, they must be aware of the dim prospects of their party, especially when suddenly facing thousands of monsters.

His mentor put him through spartan training as a mage. I'm kinda reminded of The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic except the protagonists have opposite mindsets regarding the training.
The protagonist here has rock bottom self-esteem, and it annoyingly shows when he thought the other party members looked down on his insane training. The lack of trust in his legitimately trustworthy party is painful to look at, and they had to remind him he's in a party.

So we can explain away the MC not knowing his strength because he was raised in seclusion and his master was some kind of genius herself who was not easily impressed. How was the hero party ignorant of his ability? They were clearly aware of what he was doing, since they were looking for replacements with his skills. Did they just believe him when he said his skills were sub-par? Had none of them ever worked with another support before? And they also had no awareness of the difference between them being buffed or not? The S-level party is clearly aware of the common sense of the world, so why is the hero party deluded?
Yeah makes no sense. I first thought the hero party was not aware because he cast his enhancement silent (the S-rank Party was also not aware he finished his casting) but with the requirements for their white healer it makes no sense. Alone the storage magic would (if the standard is the surprised reaction of the s-Rank party) be enought to let him stay in the hero party. Or at least wait to kick him out till you have found a replacement with storage magic. If nobody in their party could do storage magic i would not throw the only guy out and have to carry my bag
I think the anime has done it better till now with the shieldwomen is aware something is not normal but they do not seem to be aware he cast his enhancement during their fight.

I'm going to take great pleasure in watching this third rate hero get stomped. He's gonna realize, painfully, that he's the weakest hero ever. Or die in denial. I'll laugh either way.
