When you have such a master, your confidence and common senses are utterly crushed. They raise you to their standards, not to others.my guy, stfu about "it's not a big deal" or "i'm only doing what's expected". it's like it's his catchphrase wtf
merlin: don't be arrogant
mc: does humble bragging any chance he got
With how many monsters like that and they're rushing straight to, high chance it won't hold the kinetic force.Just how rotten was the city wall that the defenders couldn't rely on it? Of course the wall was drawn really thin, but that's just the usual manga graphical mistake and shouldn't affect functionality. Although perhaps the wall really was decorative this time. Quite a funny frontier town in that case. Maybe most of the wall budget was embezzled. Probably the hero's grandpa was responsible for it, haha.
That thought visited my mind as well, but then I realised the adventurers and knights are stopping the monsters with their shields anyway. So, there's no such unstoppable force. Who knows, maybe they did it to gather all the monsters in the same place. Otherwise it's possible the monsters would have encircled the whole town. Perhaps the defenders didn't have enough people to watch the whole length of the wall, thus risking some arthropod monsters climbing the walls and assaulting civilians. With how many monsters like that and they're rushing straight to, high chance it won't hold the kinetic force.
There's a difference between rushing straight to the gate, which is a wall's thinnest point, and rushing, then jumping upward to a wall of shields. In the former case, the full kinetic force of the impact will transfer to the gate and likely, if not immediately, break it. In the latter case, depends on velocity and angle, the force is decreased. Shield bearers can also lower their shields on purpose to lessen the force then push back, pushing monsters down the trench they prepared. That thought visited my mind as well, but then I realised the adventurers and knights are stopping the monsters with their shields anyway. That's exactly what I said, him acting all nonchalant about the shit he pulls off, would make me wanna punch him in the face, he was told by Merlin to not be arrogant when he becomes powerful, but he's doing exactly that, just not like Allenmy guy, stfu about "it's not a big deal" or "i'm only doing what's expected". it's like it's his catchphrase wtf

Not that it doesn't exist but it only seems to exist when the MC specifically builds it like 5 minutes before the raid lolWell one of the biggest mistakes made in manga and also in many movies, is the absence of moats, barricades and other defense gadgets
My guess is, it's built of low-level stone that isn't as tough as fantasy metals they make shields from, and that can't compare to the strength of a typical frontline combatant of the setting. So monsters that reach the wall would be able to break through it easily.Just how rotten was the city wall that the defenders couldn't rely on it?
