This manga... It's like a child's fairy tale book, crammed with obvious morales.

"Hard work beats talent."

No, that take is simplistic and stupid.

Pretty much yea, Both the Talented and the Non-talented will apply hard work and the Talented will grow far faster than the Non-talented.

that wasn't the moral at all though. It was that you shouldn't expect everyone to have the same starting point as you and should accommodate the difference if you want them to improve. It's not like they had an army of dragon kings as foot soldiers as an alternative, the point is for the dragon king to realize that he's an exception and that it's unrealistic for him to build an army using himself as a standard as he is, by definition, an exception to the norm.

...ok. Anyways, it's a bit more than just a children's moral as a sizable number of adults don't understand this. They equate one's current standing to effort they put in to obtain it, without considering that they may have been born into a position which is better/worse or have received more/less support and resources to improve. A lot of people still believe in Calvinism and equate the money you have to how moral you are. Thing is, for one's current standing to be representative of their efforts alone, you have to have a strong enough support system that it decouples everything besides work from their rewards.

The lesson seems so straightforward, overtly moralistic, almost child-like...

Except half the adults in real life don't fucking get it either. Born on third base, thinks they hit a home run. Inherited wealth equals virtue. Small loan of a million dollars. So yeah, I consider this arc entirely justified.

Besides, it's fun to see how much Mister Max Stats is enjoying playing a management sim after a lifetime grinding through the grindiest of all grindy RPG quests, ever.

Short, sweet and concise. Well said.

The game he's been playing is the hybrid of all game genres, life.
His is endless too apparently, so no changing games if the replay-ability drops below ground.

I am surprised that the guy immediately got it, I mean they weren't being subtle but he still had to realize that it was relevant to the treatment of his soldiers and people don't tend to be introspective when being insulted.

lmao the scanlation team having their own arc

also honestly, lots of adults think this way even now, thinking their achievements aren't due to other advantages, and are built only on their hard work. i'm glad that this common and rather problematic concept was mentioned and handled very naturally here :>

Funny how easily the big guy saw the comparison and realised his mistake.
If it was about 95% of real people, they'd never make the connection. They'd probably be all "who does he think he is claiming this golem is common knowledge as though it were an arch-chimera or something!"

More like at least 10 lifetimes.
