and now weve moved on to a whole new arc, from some of the promo art for upcoming volumes, it looks like one of the DH series will be revived

Honestly, I would have preferred Leo finally being killed and them finding a way to, i dunno, bring him back.
Also, they mentioned Echidna obtaining the "philosopher's stone". Are they referring to obtaining Leo to join the demon army?

This may seem all good and all but he has lost his only way to die. Imortallity may seem like an awsome power but is just downsides. He will have to watch them all die, and then new people wilp take there place, and then they will die. All while leo is just there.... existing
Because he just lost his only method of death, the pain he will endure for the rest of time (unless some other way to die ia found) will outway the moments of happiness he will feel. It would of been better for him to just have died then.

I don't like it, this power of friendship stuff is stupid. He a chance to finally die but they didn't kill him and for what? the demon king had a chance to realize her life long dream but she put it off for the sake of somebody that actually wanted to die.

Y'know, I think that part where he revealed he produced complete blueprints of the entire DH series, minus the hearts, should mean something.
Feels like that was Chekhov's gun being introduced there, and might become relevant to the plot at a later point in time.
An alternate story where they take his heart could work too, since later on they could discover the recreated blueprints and then rebuild him again with the heart.

Seems like a lot of people are misunderstanding some things...
It's not that he wanted to die, but had no choice to die.
The order to "protect humanity", was starting to twist him. It made him want to destroy humanity to save it. He knew that he was the evil that needed to be destroyed. Hence, the reason he needed to die. But now that he's able to suppress that order, it no longer matters.
He said it more than once... "I don't want to die."
While I agree that being "immortal" will make him suffer again, but maybe they might find a way to let him grow old. The philosopher stone is the source of his power, right? Then they just need to figure out how to take it out and turn him into a human. While it sounds easy, it probably won't be. But I think this is what the mangaka is aiming for at the end.

ya know, id choose to die, he will enventually grow to the point where nothing kills him even he cant kill himself and hes an immortal.. so he will outlived them through time then what he will be alone again... he will outlived everyone till he himself only remains alone, its the pityfull existance on a person cursed with immortality, in which he will never the sweet relief of death

Nothing (in my knowledge) is truly immortal in this current world, the scale is just astronomical. Even the natural supermassive black hole will run out of it fuel eventually, even less if it's a miniature one, 'cause Hawking radiation or something like that
