I think that it's better to call Yuzuko a “smart baka”, than a “smart fool”, because she is the primary complement to the Yui in Yui's rôle as tsukkomi . (Yukari is also something of a baka, though mostly she is quiet and sweet.)

I always wonder if I should keep the japanese or not when doing those. I kept tsukkomi because that's such a specific thing, on the flipside baka is just idiot so I just put idiot.

@DjDrake8
baka is just idiot
But, in this context, even if we agreed that “baka” always meant idiot, it doesn't just mean idiot, because the baka is the character to whom a tsukkomi as such reacts. (Yu reacts to other characters, but not then typically as a tsukkomi.)

Yuzuko is certainly a goof, but her behavior is driven not by stupidity but by a childlike urge to play and to experiment.

I get what you mean, makes sense when you say it like that. Will keep that in mind might reupload.

"Smart Idiot" is fine tbh. Seems like a fittingly nonsensical way to sum her up.

Though I think Kei's is meant to be more like "joke target" or "joke magnet" rather than "jokester".

(Thanks for the chapter! I don't mean for the whole comment thread to be nitpicks).

probably true was having trouble finding what this one meant. Original text is イジられがち.
Edit: thank you for pointing out the passive, didn't really look at it that much and was only looking up ijiru as I was going through these after doing the chapter real quick. My bad should have caught it, haven't done a chapter in a while, will fix.

Yeah, that's "ijiru" (to mess with) in passive form (ijirareru), which means someone else would be doing it to her, rather than her doing it.

Does this mean a whole volume will come up next?
bruh that is a tall task, especially when exam season is near. I'll try during summer not like there will be much to do. I will say I need a cleaner if I want any sort of consistent schedule with this.
