Handling the changing times is always hard, and this puts a cute face on that issue. I wonder what the final answer is though, since this being seems immortal and he will die one day. Maybe she will be released from this house and go with him to a different area? Perhaps she will look after his family in the future rather than be forced to stay in that dying area.
