Brago and Sherry was clearly the better choice to bring in.
Zatch and Kiyo has always been the brainy type to exploit information and then a strategy to beat their opponents. About 80% of their victories were done through knowledge and planning.
While Brago with all his immense power never needed strategy until Clear Note due to how much more powerful he was compared to everyone else.

Summoning Zatch and Kiyo suddenly to fight with an unknown enemy would obviously end badly for them.

Tbf, Zatch was the only option at first, and, on top of that, Zatch and Kiyo are lacking a lot of the options they'd normally have used in the original series, which allowed the pair to beat Brago and Sherry in the end. Brago is definitely the better option now since it's the difference between Batman with a couple of batarangs, some pepper spray and zero prep time, and the Hulk, but even then, a neutered Batman is still Batman 🤔

i'd say the classic "Train from scratch" arc. so that the Demons won't be too dependent on their spells.

Except that then there's zero point to their human partners and the spell books. Like maybe they can get new spells, like Zatch and Kanchome did, but I doubt they'd train to now use their spells at all, especially since Naga being drained was draining the energy directly from the Demons, so this is far more than them losing their spells

The fight was pretty cool with how outmatched Gash is. But this sequence feels kinda rushed. Like 'this series just got axed and need to wrap up soon' rushed. I really hope I'm wrong.

Not sure why that's the vibes you're getting, feels more like the set-up for the next arc. It a climax of the story, but that's more to get the ball rolling into the next phase of things. Right now we're getting a glimpse at what is truly at stake, and how this ends will give us a better idea of where we're going after and an idea of the urgency going forward.

in the manga world, there would always be an explanation. might not be a good one, but explanation nonetheless. it's called "Deus ex Machina". or at least it used to be. IDK what the recent generation called it now. plot armor, maybe?

anyway, back to the topic. of the top of my head, i can imagine that for humans, it might be how to make/design a new spell, and for the demons, to actually make that spells. kinda like architect and engineer kinda thing. but if before, all spell originates from the electric dragon thingy the antagonist want to take, now they have to make it themselves.

maybe the human would have to understand what exactly is heart energy, and how to harness them. not just meditate/rest to refill it. maybe it would be how to up the quality, but less quantity ot vice versa.

and for the demon, how to harness the energy/spell better. imagine if Gash can cast Zakeruga from the back of his head to deal with sneak attack. or zakeru from the bottom of his feet to give a speed boost.

or maybe it'll be like Digimon, and the Demons and their partners will fuse.

so many potentials.

i feel like brago going to die "again". need to nerf super strong character for the last part. but if story wiil end as season one i wish everyone survive

I doubt this is an early ending, it's quite clearly meant to be estabilishing the stakes of fighting Beliel and his abilities as a villain. The cryptic mention of "his dream" is also very telling that it's a relevant thing for the plot, but that won't be revealed anytime soon.

This. This is basically akin to the "Empire Strikes Back" section of the overall narrative where the heroes get their asses kicked and the arc ends with the big bads getting away with what they wanted to and the heroes needing to pick up the pieces at the start of the next arc. Gash will get his Luke moment where he gets his hand chopped off and Brago will get frozen in carbonite (metaphorically) and the villain will laugh and walk away seemingly triumphant setting up for the finale arc where they "rise from the ashes" and grow stronger to overcome.

They're going to lose for sure but this could lead to them tapping to new power, since not letting them using their spells has been the rule from start.

Something feels fast here, while setting up the mastermind - though overall Gash has been taking a lot of Ls over the course of the series for 'strategic' wins as king, and now it's going to be the whole world if they can't do something.

Feels like it's a bad idea for Brago to turn his back against the enemy he's currently fighting, he might get attacked from behind to prevent him from helping Gash.
Either way, the main villain will no doubt succeed with his current objective to keep the stakes high, so even if Brago managed to get inside the barrier he'll lose against the main villain.
