why do i feel they really aren't evil bunch (as in, malicious) it just they don't considered ethics in their research

would be interesting if wim just be their research partner but not join in the cult/slavery shit (because it's conflict with his belief) but knowing this is shonen and one of the main char is against it (martilda? i forgot her name) the chance seems to be zero
