If you think about it, being a punk who loves books is not the easiest of combinations, image wise. He did start to find his own path better later, after becoming a part-time library employee. He can openly like books but also act like a punk, at least sometimes, with people. You could even say his personality has benefitted the library since he doesn't actually have any ill intentions. He's just heedless and a bit rude.

These flashback eps are cute but I really want to see what's going on in the present - is he even at the same school? Is the school librarian still around? Is he gonna drop by all "Uhuhu I upgraded from being a crummy school library helper, now I get yelled at constantly at a REAL library"? Is he gonna be all "thanks for believing in me mom -- I mean library mom -- I mean library lady"? I need to know!

It's just always like that. I certainly remember looking at the kids a year or two below me in highschool and going "man, must be nice to be young and dumb still". 🤣
