I don't know what to think about the manhole actually being there.

I guess it makes the trap more dangerous because there's danger above and below but it sorta undermines the ghost?

Triggered by walking into the hole
Disarmed by looking down to see where it is
Consequence is falling into a manhole

Clear, reasonable

Ghost trap:
Triggered by... walking around in that area?
Disarmed by... not being there?
Consequence is it gets you?
