Released back in June 2024,
Zenless Zone Zero (aka ZZZ) is just one of those Hoyoverse gacha games for a very specific kind of audience.

First,
I can't play the game on Windows when it was released so i was forced to play it on Linux with Wine.
(Note: It was fixed in 1.1)

The combat system is good.
The only main reason why I play this game.
Well, it's complicated at first but after some practice, it's cool and "feature".

About the story,
I don't know that much. 😕
I don't even know where this is really going :kek:.
It's maybe one of those games where I just wanted to play without knowing anything about the plot.
Well, I haven't still played it that much so I will probably know more later.
(I might have spend to much time on playing the free mini-games instead of the actual game)

The combat theme music reminds me of some Stmpd Rcrds artists,
like Tiesto or Mesto.
Not surprising, since Tiesto already made a collab with them.
I wish they made a collab with AREA 21,
their vibe and their style match so much with the game.

And about the characters... 😅
They are all good (for now)
but some of them make me wonder if they are some hentai inspired one.:worry:
(like that Dane Joe agent :smugnako:)
at least we have something to fap "fantasize" on.

And the game size,
56 Go on PC :fml:
and there might be still more to go on the next updates.
Well, at least It's not as laggy as other games on my Potato PC (cough cough Wuthering Waves cough cough)

Anyway,
I think I will spend more time on Genshin and ZZZ now and probably more in the future.

Hey, if you like Hoyoverse games, why not also play Honkai Star Rail?
I hate turn based combat.
Maybe I'll comeback when I feel motivated to know more about the story.

Feel free to share any thoughts about the game in this thread.
Maybe we'll find something interesting to talk on.

The game feels comfortable and the 'just the right hoyo game' for me because it's mechanically similar to Honkai3rd (that has expanded beyond my 2017 comprehension) with seemingly more contained worldbuilding so it's not going way too all over the place at the start of the story. Interface, characters and overall aesthetics also got really strong direction compared to when you look at their open world games and immediately recognize the similar-but-not-quite flavor

Aight guys what server are you on

Oh!
Another day, another update for this game.
Good luck for those ones who want to update.
Since, the update is like:
  • 8 Go on mobile
  • 10 Go on PC

But what about you??
Don't mind me, I'm used to it.

NA player here. I tried returning to HI3 earlier this year but I got turned off by how much bloat is in it now. PGR got really exhausting to keep up with after awhile so this my poison now.

Not enough games do the highly stylized urban aesthetic. The most one in my memory being Bomb Rush Cyberfunk or maybe Hi-Fi Rush if we're stretching it.

The only gripe I have with ZZZ is the shared ultimate bar, but I can't deny it plays a good part in making the combat interesting.

As for the story... It's good; we get to know Sons of Calydon better but... c'mon. What happened to Perlman? I can't deny it was good but it irks me how our main goal of going to Outer Ring in the first place was brushed off like that.

Two things I love about Zenless Zone Zero:
First, is the "movie cover" for each chapter of the stories. Not only it integrates well to the Proxies' background (of them being Video Store managers) but the illustration KICKS ASS. Like:
Chapter-2-B-Tape-Cover-Front.webp

HOT DAMN. Did they use JoJo part 4 as a reference for this one?
Chapter-2-IB-Tape-Cover-Front.webp

Like DAMN!!! I'm a sucker for cool manga cover art, so seeing this in game is a pleasant surprise.

And second, they put tidbits about a character when you get their "Mindscape Cinema" (Character Duplicates)
Most gacha games like HI3, PGR, Aether Gazer, R1999, NIKKE, Alchemy Stars, they don't put additional information there. Genshin and WuWa does a tiny bit by carefully naming their dupes. Arknights did this better; through the descriptions of their character tokens. But ZZZ takes it a step further.

( I still hate how Hoyo's C3 and C5 is always, always stat boost. Boring.)

Recent leaks for 1.4 have suggested that this may change and every individual unit will get their own decibel meter. I personally dislike that it seems whenever something that makes this game unique isn't liked enough, the devs give up on it like what happened with TV mode.

In theory, ults are that way to make the player consider the opportunity cost of choosing one over the others depending on the current situation, but the issue is that non-DPS ults are not very compelling to use as they currently are. Stun agent ults do not deal a sufficient amount of daze, support agent ults have a generic energy boost as an additonal benefit rather than something more unique, etc.

Their solution to this instead of designing better ults for individual agents is to just scrap the idea entirely and make this game more like everything else in the market, which is discouraging to see.

This update is awesome. My favorite is the "Endless Tower" update. I remember in 1.0 people are complaining about how easy the game is; How enemies are just HP sponges and how the TV system didn't help. But now, with the new VR feature? Shit, I just got my ass served on a silver plate. I just got my squad wiped and now I'm motivated to play better (not mashing the attack button, for starter).
The story is great in this update too. Glad we can learn more about the HSOS6 in the story.

Now, off I go to bed. Got a headache from playing too much lately....

I wonder who is the best girl on Zenless Zone Zero ahem assets aside because they always switch up the old character with the newer one.

I've played for like 2 months and I only got a C1 Anby. Stun Agents should deal more damage imo

I would love to play ZZZ, but unfortunately the game takes up exactly all of my pc's storage (also, because my pc systems take up some of the space, it's literally impossible to download it) someday, if i get a better pc, i'll 100% download it. :win:
