@Tamerlane Not to mention that, since he later demonstrates that he can create gold, he could at least replace what he destroyed earlier, but apparently does not.

Couldn't the disappearing be meant for space magic?
Every alchemist's' dream to create gold.. why not just achieve goals with the power of gold?
Ponders on the properties of that philosopher's stone.

Creating gold is a no-no. Creating something that lets anyone create gold, that's okay.

This feels like the guy who invented dynamite. He made it to help people and even got the Nobel Prize, but then when it eventually got used for war, he regretted making it.

I think that a philosopher's stone would be the same. It would cause more bloodshed than it would help.

So let me put this straight.

Philosopher stone crafting requirements some times listed by many legendary items or horrid story.

Example 1 (game term) :
- Dragon Blood - Mystery Elixir - Saint Quartz

Example 2 (modern/pop-culture term) :
- sacrificial of holy maiden/pure-breed demon
- sacrificing 100 or more human at full moon in specific date and month.

If we just see the outline without considering any detailed recipe and magic formula, we can assume Philosopher's Stone are created from 'massively condensed mana'.

Not only can continuously recharge it's own power by absorbing mana from nature, the stone also multiply it's mana gain. Depending on wich grade item that used and complexity of the formula. That if I'm not wrong, the lowest multiplied are 90x up to 200x. Which also works the same when enhancing spell.

Summary, the author are not exactly wrong but by magic and alchemy law it's not exactly right either.

Then again, this is just my own thought. And once again, one of many generic isekai'd that failed in exploring basic world building then blaming 'He got OP power, so why not?' reason.

Right? 😂

@Tamerlane Notice how they used a pond of water, instead of just a glass? Or how they used a boulder instead of a pebble? I'm guessing they use a fixed volume, using the density of the material to judge the individual's magic power. Giving him just one bar would then equate to just using a boulder again.

You're using our laws of physics to judge their world. We don't have magic, they do. Ergo, our laws of physics don't apply in their world. Notice how the pebble stayed the same size when turned into gold, despite gold having a higher density? Yeah, law of conservation of mass my ass.

Strictly speaking, we don't know if gold is really their currency, or even all that valuable. We can assume, since it has magic resistance and "It's not good to create gold", but not confirm. Regardless, given that there are low-class servants present, and they only freaked out about his power and not burning cash, I'd say "starving peasantry" is not an issue in their territory.

"I must concentrate? if i lose control, with all of this magic... it'll be dangerous..."
He said next to a little girl and in a house where there is his family and lots of other people ...

It annoys me more and more when I read things like that
Yet it's not that hard to turn the sentence differently, to appear intelligent and shown that he knows what he is doing, that he is not taking any risks
But no, the author chose the worst way to show how his hero is.
He shows how irresponsible/imature/stupid he is...

that was literally an entire country's worth of gold and MC just casually destroys it and the father doesn't blink an eye. is gold not valued in this world? is this like the Aztec where they didn't have any use for gold so it was basically worthless to them?

@Varler the guy who invented dynamite didn't win the nobel peace prize, he created it. Alfred Nobel created dynamite and used that money to create the nobel prize
