This poor manga can't catch a break. From one bad MTL translation to another except now there's logos plastered all over it.

e: okay I guess that's not fair KS's translation improved somewhat but I still have no idea what the hell happened to chapter 1

Your mtl output is lousy with incorrect subjects where someone says 'I am...' when they actually mean 'you are...' and there's places where you straight up reverse bubble order because of a too-literal translation that breaks in english.

3.3 - 'if I could' -> 'if you could' (twice)
7.2 - bubbles reversed
8.2 - I don't even know what happened to this panel
8.3 - 'she's bombarding him' -> 'she's bombarding me'
9.1-9.2 - I'm pretty sure these bubbles are reversed
14.4 - 'she seemed to react' -> 'you seemed to react'
15.1 - 'is there a particular reason for that' (she's still the one talking, not him)
15.3-15.4 - weird ordering due to literal translation. start with 'it's true you've seen right through me', then go into 'you've probably heard already'
16.3 - is it 'high aire' or 'highaire', make your mind up
17.3 - 'is he angry' -> 'are they angry'
19.1 - 'I understand what you're saying' -> he hasn't said anything for pages. 'I understand the situation'

you've put out 30 ad-riddled chapters in less than a week, serious question: do you like any of the manga you're translating?

and I just looked at all the raws and OH BOY is it bad, they basically just speed rushed EVERYTHING with a MC fighting final boss at the end and you don't even get to see the conclusion, like this wasn't a MC on his way to fight the final boss but instead a like montage of POV of what every group is doing and it just so happened that MC eventually fights the final boss, basically this whole series is another Advertisement for the READ THE LN type shit if there even is a LN sucks alot cause I actually liked the design of the characters in this series OTL RIP

Why is everyone complaining about the translation quality? The text is readable and in the bubbles. That is more than I can say for some other translations I have seen. This is legitimately an okay translation quality. Also if it is ending at chapter 18 it's either a rushed series or a light novel ad.

I'm complaining about it because it's wrong, obviously so, in multiple places, often on the same page. I don't even need to look at the raws to know that because half the time they can't even get who's speaking right. Some of their chapters have people's names change over eight times in the chapter because the MTL can't get it consistent and they don't care. 'Readable' means fuck all when it's actively wrong, obviously MTLed in a lazy way to drive people to their points site, and done with no care or concern.

It's not that they're MTLing their work, but that they're being so lazy with any kind of proofreading. It took me less than ten minutes to point out a laundry list of mistakes that would have instantly improved the quality of the chapter, elementary mistakes that don't need the ranks or a translator to check them. And they couldn't be bothered to do that over 100 chapters into their career as translators. That shows a huge lack of respect both for the material they're translating and for you, the reader, but they do it because people just accept the slop without any kind of critique because hey, it might be competely wrong, but it's readable.

If I 'translated' a chapter by putting 'fuck' in every word bubble would it be acceptable so long as it was readable and in the bubbles?

When I say that the text is readable I mean that I can generally understand what's going on in the story. I'm not using the word readable in the literal sense of how readable are the words but in the metaphorical sense of can I more or less understand what the story is trying to convey.

Sure, but it's still wrong in obvious ways that could be fixed very easily. The fact they don't bother is what sucks, and really reinforces for me that all they're trying to do is get as many chapters up with a link to their points site as possible. They're not interested in making a 'good translation', which makes the final result worse from every angle and is just this really sad mercenary way of going about things when you could spend not even ten minutes and end up with a much better chapter.

As a reader, I don't think it's helpful to go 'this sucks but I can kinda understand it so whatever' because that just encourages sloppy translating because 'fuck it, it's good enough, why try?'. Which feels really bad for people who do try and that effort goes unnoticed.
