I really like all of the unique golem tech they have in this manga. Utilizing all sorts of shapes of golem to imitate modern technology. The loud speaker being several different sized golems, for instance (Even the cable was a golem).

Considering a slime shouldn't have any wits whatsoever, I'd assume it gained intelligence by eating some sort of superior magic wolf. It also gained the wolf monster's communication skills, among other things, at least to a degree. That's my theory.
