So that's what the strange effect on volume 4's cover was. Then Stella will get a ghoul doppelganger as well.

First parasites, then ghouls. Both highly intelligent and physically vastly superior to humans, yet both existing in hiding. They should be the dominant lifeform on this planet.

I wonder if the ghouls have a limited time they can assume forms, so the danger of keeping a host alive.

Colon playing high stakes without knowing the rules. I'm glad to see some of the visual comedy of Stella being a freaky Ring monster coming back.

Not necessarily. Parasitic species depend on their hosts species to survive. If they kill their host and took over the world, they lose their home and food source, which would hurt their own survival. It’s actually better for parasitic species if its host species stays alive and thriving. Also, if there are too many parasites or they cause too much harm, the host species can develop resistance over time.

Colon is locked in all the time now I guess. Aggressively splitting up to bait the ghoul, creating 2-layer contingencies as casually as small talk.

Alright, so I can understand why Colon would want to gather more information on ghouls but it seems odd to refuse going explore the hole with the prince and then finally agreeing when the stepbrother parasite joins in. After all, the stepbrother parasite sees Stella as a potential threat to his position, especially if an engagement with the prince goes through, so it seems to me that he'd have some incentive to get rid of both of them.

But I guess I'm wrong about the stepbrother's parasite current intentions. At least for now, it is still building its strength, collecting knowledge and avoiding conflict with Colon. It'll probably still participate in the stepsister's plots, but beyond that he's uninterested in taking any action.

Also, Colon considered it dangerous to accompany the prince, but then was perfectly fine with them all splitting off to explore.

It seems the monster we had seen before isn't the mimic ghoul at all, and it got defeated easily. Now Colon has also revealed the true nature of the mimic ghoul or at least the monster that is mimicking humans that was in this cave. I'm not sure the other ghouls, that replaced and killed humans that the prince referred to, are the same species of monster.

It's somewhat strange that it's made of sand and that in both cases, no harm came to the prince. It might not like rain, or water, much. I wonder if it even eats anything; I mean, I assume the pile of bones is from the other monster feeding.

You know, the prince has a terrible attitude and slightly naive but he actually isn't stupid. Dude has displayed some shockingly level headed decisions and sharp insights so not surprising that Colon picked up on how utterly clueless the ghoul was. The real Prince Radwin actually would have picked up on what Colon was talking about almost immediately and brought up his own interjections and taken the lead himself to prove he was real
