This manga was going so well... why introduce these villains? They have literally no realistic motivation besides "Lol we're evil". Even the old boss was a far better villain. He was a guy who always manipulated people at work and found that this method works for his survival in the zombie world.

I think those guys just represent the randomnes of human nature. Even the darkest aspects. They where the trash of society. Society may be gone, but they still act like trash...
The potential and actuals rapers, murderes, incels, zelots and other fanatics, hipocrits and politicians, etcetc of the world, represented by those four.

So many people in this section thinking that their motivations aren't deep or their evilness is random, just turn on the news once in a while or read something that isn't a manga. This is precisely what people are like, everytime there is a disaster going on, there are plenty of people looking at it like an opportunity to be more selfish. Just like Akira's main goals are all shallow things to bring him joy, so are the NEET's goals.

@MelReinH well you call that guy a "cruel villain" but, in the story he is just a "normal" human dealing with the zombie apocalypse in his own way.
also the word villain is not really fitting here because that would make akira the hero , which I do not feel like is intended to by the author at all. more fitting would be to describe higurashi as an cruel antagonist.

In my take they are just personified versions of extreme positive and extreme negative and selfish personalities, which of course makes them a little one dimensional, but in my opinion is not detrimental to this story. on the contrary, I think this is what makes akiras group so fun to watch

Rotten people have to be taken care of before they fuck shit up, it's always the same with this garbage, poor villagers paying the price of being too innocent and welcoming. . .

I was hoping for a couple more chapters of comfy country life before it all comes crashing down, a shame it's happening so early.

Seeing a peaceful village in a zombie world really makes you want to mess it up. So, I'm on the bad guys' side this time.

This feels like the end of a short anime season, where they add a sudden spike of seriousness for the season finale.

This is how someone who doesn't understand nihilism writes nihilism. I guess it can be excused because he is basically an edgy young-adult NEET who never matured past their edgelord phase.

Still, I wish we got something different from a Zombie Apocalypse story. I am curious of who the other people there are, and I'm willing to bet based on that list that what they did to that woman involves a lot of unspeakable actions. See: Patty Hearst.

In the apocalypse, NEETs inherently have value because of their genes and reproductive potential, baka.
