Thanks for the chapter and Merry Christmas!
zombies emenate no heat cause theyre dead so the chance of carrying the virus is unlikely. im surprised the shark and fish were zombified. the whole zombie thing is simply too realistic unless it was a parasite and the body was still funcitoning. a corpse will gradually decompose till all is gone, and then they wouldnt be able to infect anyone, especially during the summer when carcasses are rotting to extreme heights. the zombie apocalypse wouldnt last a few months in the summer.@NamelessSoldier It not as scary as infected insects like mosquito.
Phd in zombielogy. give me your number so i can call you when this world fallsAnimals cells and plant cells are so fundamentally different that it wouldn't matter. @NamelessSoldier
They consist of two different domains completely and their biology is completely different. Try giving a tree whooping cough and see how well it goes
It's unlikely that mosquitos would be affected in the same way or at all. They wouldn't target the zombies as they're shown behaving in the same way as corpses that can walk for all intensive purposes. Mosquitos wouldn't even acknowledge them and most likely would avoid them outright @kiosoma1
It's probably not as bad as it seems upon first glance. Given how the disease seems to infect in such a way that would cause decomposition to set in, various fungal species, heat from the sun, etc. would naturally eradicate most of the Zombies. Probably why there's still hordes of zombies is that the rate of new infection is still relatively high (This is just a few weaks if not months into the outbreak)@Seraphy @elefantine97 @Sep10trion
The disease is unfit to survive as it consumes all of its food source, which its reproduction is also tied to. Give it two years, most of the zombies will have died, will be suffering malnutrition from being in remote areas where the complex forms of food needed to sustain oneself can't be found (ie. Subways, underground networks, basements, etc.) which will lead them to starve to death. This is not to mention how its very possible just through adaptation, those who are unaffected by the disease are more likely to survive and reproduce viable offspring which will increase the allele frequency throughout the population. Additionally, single-celled life and viruses would most likely be able to adapt to the infection within a much shorter time frame, which would leave the zombies prone to other competition and diseases that would plunge it into competition.
Zombies are a very evolutionary unfit and would most likely not survive long-term and most species would be able to outlast it
