This actually can be good to be serialized

no need for long chapter , 10 is enough to make it to the ending and have some moral lesson or question for both the kids and the android

Interesting. Up until the reveal that it was a cyborg with the son's brain uploaded, I thought it was going to be like Ray Bradbury's short story "There Will Come Soft Rains", about a "smart house" that continued automatically preparing meals and whatnot for its family, oblivious to the fact that they had already perished due to nuclear war.

Maybe I'm overly pessimistic, I was fully expecting him to kill the mother and her kids to feed them to his family.

But if he doesn't feed them random unzombified passer-bys (is that really how this gets pluralised) AND doesn't leave the house, that opens to the question of where he is finding the stuff to make the gruel he's serving his family or the ingredients for a birthday cake ?

Well, I'm just nitpicking. That was good. It would probably work very well in a short serialisation (like two or three tanks, doesn't need to get dragged for years).

probably just out of date food he savaged from other nearby houses. It's clear that he just tried to keep up the appearance of a family and he understood that his family is basically dead, so I doubt he would actually use fresh food or human to create those dishes.
