The author made it an open ending for the readers to judge what should be good for the girl and the boy so yeah whatever comes to your mind would be you and what your experience or ideals tells you about your outlook in your life. The message about this erotic yet almost true story manga is not to live in a fleeting happiness but for the future that you should shape in your teenager life.

That's the thing she chose to be with the teacher instead of her childhood friend. The only reason she left was because once he got caught and was arrested she had to leave. She chose wrong in her teenage years and thinks she can get a do-over.

She never tried to leave during that time and the fact that she thinks or at least hopes she can get back with the male childhood friend now after all this time really irks me.

Had they shown that the childhood friend had found someone else and they meet again it would have been a better ending then this open ended one. It would've been bittersweet but more realistic.
