I agree with many here that the whole “guest rules” trick leading to Yuu losing was a silly asspull, but at least it served the purpose of advancing Yuu’s existential crisis.

Nah, the way izawa said that he was 'getting along' with his opponent is just another way to reveal the guest rules.

Yuu has probably never went to a dojo before, thus the atmosphere and the whole context of why he was there kind of took him out of his guard, even if he was going to fight, he didn't see osada as a threat , he was presented to him like shougo's izawa, after all, and even after realizing, it also came down to yuu's personality and emotional
