You know ... is it just bad writing? Like how is it that we constantly see these kinds of idiots in a lot of mangas, who attempt to basically violate, kill, maim, etc., important envoys to an absolutely powerful faction/country/group despite it being well known just how fearsome or powerful they are? Do they literally think they'll be able to get away with it, or be able to handle the retribution that would follow? I just don't understand how a crime syndicate was able to get that big, but yet still be so stupid? It just doesn't make any sense.
