This chapter got dark real fast.

The way dragon girl said her family is with her, i thought she absorb their soul not literally eat them.

Although there is no way she is the last of her kind. The last of her tribe/clan probably.

So he's broken. That's some soulless eyes at the end. He said he was prepared for the consequence but he's obviously not.

Basically he's on the edge, 'cause he awake for too long in a row. What also doesn't help, he is feeling guilty of what he did.

Well, the angel did her job. It's doubtful Flio will ever use time magic again. I realize that he's not thinking straight at this point, but why is he researching? Does he think he's going to find the key to repressing malicium? Flio, pick a lane--be the merchant you want to be with your loving wife and friends and live a quiet life or become the hero that so many want you to be.

That's one of the problems with manga MC's. They want slow life or no stress life but they are always contradicting themselves.
I don't know if Japanese public finds this funny but i'm sure as hell do not find it funny when a person says one thing while doing the other.

I completely agree with you. Your statement is a mature one whilst this manga is primarily geared towards "good" boys who want to self insert. How can a "good" boy ignore when something bad happens or not repay for his wrongdoings.
Part of the process of growing up is to understand that being agreeable (yes man) or disagreeable (no man) are not 2 opposing camps but ever shifting scales.

Why does this kind of behaviour feels wrong to non-Japanese audience:

Most Mc's in manga are people pleasers (agreeable). Why does it feel wrong? Because males in general are disagreeable whilst Japanese males have higher agreeable rate than other males. Why is that? Testosterone levels in Japanese men is lower virtually making them more feminine. Females on the other hand are in general agreeable.
Now let's configure it a bit. This manga is a wish fulfillment manga, likely targeted at losers of Japanese society. Losers (mentally) have even less testosterone.
Men who win at games, wars and fights have increase in testosterone while those who lose have it lowered. (So if you have a loser mentality you will keep on losing testosterone, making you weaker and more feminine)

Tip: Even if you lose in some sort of way always try to find positives as if you've won. This mentality is called winners mentality. You fake it till you make it. With lower testosterone you will start to exhibit more feminine qualities in a society that expects you to have more male qualities, so unless a person decides to become a trap it is counter productive. Testosterone is attributed to risk taking behaviour, better muscle growth and etc.
