If this were a fan translation I'd be 100% happy with the quality of the translation but I've read MTL + proofreader work better than this. I mean it ain't my business what people do with their money but this is a "thanks to whoever commissioned the TL" instead of a "thanks for the TL" situation.

I imagine the MC won't be extremely quick to trust anyone. A police officers isn't a police officer either in a severe zombie apocalypse because there's no police as an organisation anymore. Cops are just survivors, just like any civilian. A military unit might still exist, though, for a while. But a lone soldier or two stranded somewhere won't be military.
