I regret picking up this manga without a little bit of spoiler. At first, I would rate it 9/10, but after finishing it, I'd now give it a 7/10.

Having read the whole thing, there wasn't really anything illegal even happening until midway through when they start avoiding the police actively. MC does have false IDs, which could land him a sentence of one year in prison, but aside from that, he doesn't meet the legal definition of stalking (since Sachi is okay with it), he doesn't meet the legal definition of kidnapping (since Sachi wanted it without enticement), and it's not illegal to run away from home. Ending sucks, but if they just had a lawyer it would've gone in a much different (and probably less forced) direction.

Still think this is an absolute masterpiece. Not a lot of authors can write this many layers of emotions and make convey them this well.

Very interesting and thought provoking manga which is my personal favorite genre. Well built out drama and fairly realistic story for how crazy it was. All in all 10/10.

Just finished this. Three songs came to mind after having read the whole thing:
  • PPP - Beach House (on the stablishment of the dynamic of the relationship)
  • Days of Candy - Beach House (on the final outcome)
  • Thinking of a Place - War on Drugs (on the final chapter, and one can reminisce of everything that happened up to that point)

Fangirling aside, a great and really involving read

It had an interesting start at first that quickly died down because despite how twisted the backgrounds of the characters already were, they were overdone stereotypes.
I guess that if you were new to the genre, it would hit you bit having read similar stories, you can already see where the plot was going then there were these 2 detectives that are clearly Deus Ex Machinas and defied all sense as to why they kept protecting the protagonists.
Still a good story but dont expect it to be like I sold my life for ten thousand yen per year or Silent Voice level of storytelling.

using death to try to make an impact was kinda lame and cliche for an ending but the execution of it couldve been done well if it wasn't done so sudden and a bit forced. although the exhibit of the room was a nice touch

I won’t lie
Who the fuck came up with this shit?
Like, getting kidnapped like this and fine with it is like, it’s dumb. Romanticizing this kind of thing is basically just Stockholm syndrome at its finest
Although the fact that they suicided at the end of the manga doesn’t make it better

I read this a few years back without knowing anything and threw up :/

I know it’s psychological but it felt very romanticized to me.

Do not recommend if you prioritize your sanity

Wait suicide? I mean sure he jump up to protect her but i wouldn't count that as suicide, it's more a sacrifice than anything

Ehhhhh doesn't really make their death that great
I mean, it's like trying to get their death being deep but it's not

Absolute waste of my time reading this manga. I loved it until the ending, because using the death of the MC as a way to forcefully make the story have an impact was lazy as fuck, they could've just let him live without the unnecessary death of the MC. Absolutely regret picking this manga up. NEVER. LET. BRO. COOK. AGAIN.

Good read but i still agree that killing off Haru was just for the worse/bittersweet ending sake, his whole arc is realizing Sachi is also important to him as much as his dad, not living aimlessly but to protect the ones he love. Both main characters have moved on (Mask decided to show his face and Sachi refuses to become a coward again), why bother dragging a whole drama mother to end their happiness.
anyway i am glad i read this, what a ride

What is it with shoujo manga and romanticizing being kidnapped/abducted/forced into marriage? If you're reading it, isn't it like admitting you want to be dominated and treated like a possession? Who tagged this as seinen?
You should read it a bit further then you’ll know

Wasted my time. I learned a lot about Stockholm Syndrome though. I still don't see how it's any different from normal attraction however, in the end it's all the same coping mechanisms. The ending is just bullshit drama, I had to turn my brain off.
