I'm not one to have a justice boner or anything, but there are points where its just downright nonsensical to spare someone's life. He mercilessly massacred people and he didn't even regret it so obviously there is an expectation that he would do it again. Doesnt matter how powerless he is. He could pick up a knife and stab a civilian to death. At that point, you are putting many more lives at risk for this mass murderer to survive.

That, and the "op mc needs to hide his power" trope have bothered me. If you want to nerf an op character until the exact moment its narratively convenient for you, don't write an op character.

“I want a lowkey life”. Cat girl reveals herself, MC shows he is OP, defeats demon lord when all other heroes are incapacitated, proceeds to spare the villain who is also a witness of his OPness. Braindead author, broke the entire story he made. 30k years with the cat girl yet he prefers justice and friendship rather than treasuring the cat girl and just sitting this one out unless completely necessary. Extremely disappointed especially since MC has been a carpet being stomped on by people. I hope after this he decides to show his OPness then I will be 100% okay, if not, this shit is too contradictory.

Personally I enjoyed the MC sparing him, death is too easy for evil people. They should live with their sins and forever be tortured by them.

Plus in storys this allows them to potentially come back later.

In hindsight, did he actually kill people? No I'm not counting the douchebags posing as heroes. I need a reminder if he actually killed like innocents.

I don't remember if it was Appy or GD, and whether the translation was right or not, but he said he killed demons when he was saying his kill count for his extra lives.

Because honestly if his kill count victims were only monsters and those douchebag asshole "heroes", I'm not that hung up on seeing him being despicable.

People hung up on him saying he wanted to be worshipped, but the panel of that little girl saying thanks and stuff and all that feel good, it feels more like he just wanted to be loved and have a home he belonged to then it got all taken away from him by the douchebag and the people abandoned him like trash.

Like his motivations/personality got corrupted over time, and he's screaming these things when deep inside he's just lonely and depressed, so he's just lashing out in revenge and anger.

He crime was grooming like P Diddy.

I've been disappointed in MD comments plenty of times before, but this time it really hurts. The backstory surprisingly does a good job at making him sympathetic, yet people here can't think for more than 5 seconds about what the backstory is trying to convey. Our MC does a good job at interrogating Yuuki and breaking down his motivation with the very simple question of "Why?", yet people still call him a bad MC because he didn't do what they wanted. As a side, it's amazing to see how many people here would be in jail considering they'd kill someone that is no longer a threat.

The truth is that this chapter did some great work at building character. I really wasn't expecting to see this when I clicked on this. I was expecting pure trash, and while it certainly isn't great, in comparison to other isekai stories this does a pretty damn good job at character work and world building. Plot can be better though. Now if only people would stop speeding through it like they're on TikTok and actually think about what it is they're reading.
