Aaron has been written in a way that he channels and diffuses audience frustration with the edgelord tendencies of the protag and acts somewhat independently based on his own principles; he probably adds more to the whole team character wise than the other side characters imo, I hope he gets a powerup, by overcoming his current feeling of insufficiency.
