Hopefully that's not a wasted detail and either the trapped location or clumsy murdering creates conflict. Mass murder isn't the edgiest thing Sal Jiang has written

It looks like she created her own account, based on the social media handle shown on the last page including her name.

But yeah, that also raises questions. Given how fast (and cleverly) the author speedran the exposition, I think she just wants us to assume she fumbled through it and learned how to search for answers to her questions online.
