Case in point, chapter 64.2 page 7-8 and 9 :

The chest's lines that were visible in the original chapter were erased for no valid reason. That's what I call a quality downgrade.

Technically Stagnate can now be considered as one of William's love interest albeit it's very much one sided. But to answer your question, yes there will be a love interest that is further introduced during this current arc actually. But for the meanwhile just enjoy the bromance.

Lore drops like this typically don't happen for nothing, and I'm skeptical his next fight is going to be against the final boss right away, anyway.
