Just for discussion, is the spirit able to act independently from her for extended periods? Been awhile. It really baffles me, why is she doing the manual labor to produce the mayonnaise when the spirit standing next to her would be perfectly happy to do the work for her.
Also while the vegetables and herbs that go into the tomato sauce can easily be grown, the same can't be send for oil and eggs. Yet she is able to produce both in a quantity that can fulfill the demands of a couple thousand people, and enough spare the neighboring villages and cities were reselling for a profit.
Yes I'm willing to let a lot slide because of "manga logic", but if chicka was pumping out literal tons of product on the side while exploring the forest, she isn't going to be doing it by hand with an egg beater.
Yupper. Before she discovered that she can use her storage ability as a portal power she was going to leave the hair fetish spirit at home to handle the shop for 5 days.Just for discussion, is the spirit able to act independently from her for extended periods? Been awhile.
I mentioned hand mixers because she is using one on page 4 and 5 of this chapter. I can only assume it's what they've been using for the last few months.Rather than hand mixers, since they're going for mass production, all they really need are machines which can spin at high rate to spin the whiskers, and since electric motors don't exist here, I propose connecting larger whiskers to stationary cycles via gears and shafts. Chains where necessary. And make the product by the vat. That way, anyone can use them, production doesn't need to stop outside of arranged breaks, and she doesn't need to be present all the time.
She is "mass producing" by spawning entire batches out of magic. The reason she had to do it by hand without help is that her skill only lets her spawn stuff she has personally made before.Yupper. Also agree with the industrial grade mixers. Though think they could skip all the gears, belts and chains and go straight to magetech enchantments of some sort. Fewer moving parts, less bulky, and not as likely to contaminate the end product with shavings and friction dust from the joints and mechanisms.
She can't just use her mail order skill for the ingredients and then copy the finished product. Her skill requires her to craft with local materials for the duplication skill to work. She is "mass producing" by spawning entire batches out of magic. Market recognition and secrecy is about the only way to protect her products from being duplicated. She does this by producing large batches the product all by herself and the keeping it in her storage skill. The only thing her employees do is repackage the sauces from large barrels delivered by her familiars into smaller containers.I'm surprised she couldn't 'patent' the recipe or so even if she can't prevent resale or so but i guess she doesn't have to worry about too much of a loss, tho surprised she didn't have some of the workers join in too
Yeah tho like you said it is weird the spirits aren't helping her more (tho on the panel, he is holding a bottle of oil? so i suppose he is technically helping while she has to do the precise measuring and mixing) unless she feels 'guilty' about asking them for help or they're focusing on other stuff too or so, if their 'household help' despite being spirits/fairies means they don't have much physical strength either lol (if it's not her 'big sister' habit of doing everything herself from when she was alive in Japan. It rarely does so but considering her younger siblings are basically orphaned now, i wonder if the story will 'check in' on how they're doing if they're not sent off to an orphanage or whatever the JP equivalent of CPS is)Market recognition and secrecy is about the only way to protect her products from being duplicated. Though I doubt she would even need to do that. Only the truely rich would be able to source the cooking oil and eggs needed to make the Mayo and if I'm not mistaken the tomatoes are something that doesn't exist in this world. Little miss MC only gets away with it because of her stupidly large mana pool and cheat skills.
Can see that happening, but just feels silly because they were summoned specifically to help her with her chores and business. So it just feels pointless to summon help, and then just do it all herselfYeah tho like you said it is weird the spirits aren't helping her more (tho on the panel, he is holding a bottle of oil? so i suppose he is technically helping while she has to do the precise measuring and mixing) unless she feels 'guilty' about asking them for help or they're focusing on other stuff too or so, if their 'household help' despite being spirits/fairies means they don't have much physical strength either lol (if it's not her 'big sister' habit of doing everything herself from when she was alive in Japan.
Their mom is still alive, so the siblings should be fine. iirc she moving to a different city to attend collage and got isekai-ed soon there after. It rarely does so but considering her younger siblings are basically orphaned now, i wonder if the story will 'check in' on how they're doing if they're not sent off to an orphanage or whatever the JP equivalent of CPS is)
Not really viable in a medieval setting. TBH patents and copyrights system is barely functional IRL. Yes I know you hear a lot about DMCAs and patient infringement, but protections for their owner is only as robust as the laws and governments that back them. It only takes a few loopholes or corrupt officials and the system just falls apart. But maybe she can 'invent' stuff in the future since idk how much 'copyright' a recipe could have in the future, like working with a blacksmith/inventor to make more 'convenient' modern day tools. If not intentionally leak out the recipe or leave out a couple steps so it's not 'as good' or just let everyone/the villagers/commoners know it so merchants don't monopolize and over charge or so
The quantities she is creating on a daily basis would require thousands of chicken sized eggs and gallons of oil. The tomato sauce wouldn't be much better. Those barrels look to be larger then 50 gallons each, and to make good quality tomato sauce you would only use the meaty part of the tomato.Maybe she'll make a spirit contract with some cockatrice that can produce like dozens of eggs for her a week lol
This would only help with brand recognition, sure it might help stem the tide, but wouldnt prevent anyone from actually stealing her ideas.Tho huge city-wide distribution aside, since it's named Mayrod Sauce after herself, maybe she'll do public appearances if not put her face on the bottle as a 'mascot' or so to where ppl would wanna go to her store directly or so or other fresh/home cooked dishes by her or so versus other restaurants having it but other than her 'saving the world' or so i wouldn't mind her focusing on being a merchant/more products for sale lol
She was reincarnated into a dead child's body and assumed her identity. As per the setting in the early chapters, she has no living family that can take over her care, the family estate, or the general store left behind by her grandfather.Tho the "i can finally see that child again" is concerning, i guess she might've 'taken over' an existing body when she first awoke unless it was a previous customer that happened to visit the town before as opposed to "Distant relative, you lived on your own/were traveling with your parents before they died" or something (tho as a kid, you could prolly get away with the "Wow you're a completely diff person than from what i remember" And "I've grown as a person!" if not some amnesia type thing lol)
[tho rereading the first chapter she does have a proper Last name/the rabbit lady knew who she was so i assume there are other ppl who know her from before Oba-chan took over her body lol]
