I like Wallace as another friend and supporting character.

He's the right guy in many ways. Part of the Imperial bloodline, someone who is familiar with high imperial culture, and also a good example of how ludicrous it is in both resulting behavior (his womanizing as a way to find an out) and history (his explanation of House Roselia's past).

Also, he's just really funny by himself. Both him and the ojou-sama really elevate this arc.

Avid is a ancient mecha unit, it have different controls, hence why she asked for a pilot for it that can't be found in the era they are living in as every modern mecha have a piloting system that makes it easier for the pilot.
MC istantly thought of his second main knight, that comes from said past era and have experience with archaic units.
Using Avid is not only MC being stubborn, is a incredibly powerful unit and given the fine control needed he can replicate the Flash when using it.

Spoiler: The Alchemy Box does have limits :)

It has provided Liam with alot of wealth but later on it's only a portion of his government budget. The Alchemy Box does get tired too, the same way your computer overheats if you don't do proper maintenance on it like changing the thermal paste. Ofcourse it seems to have infinite uses, but not too much at a time.
