As much as theres senses being made in this chapter, it doesnt deny that they lead a fucking high level monster to their hometown. Also this dude pampering pisses me off.

The girls: made a mistake/were given an unfitting rank
Dude: about to get mad/doubting
Girls: crii
Dude: ah no biggie youll do better and i believe you.

Dotting parent? i prefer the parent type that knows to correct their kids instead.

if the girl aware of their dad past, should they did some research about his past party. at least to know their fate now? if their party crumbles after he left then it a strong argument to make the dad back as dark mage.

like seriously why the fucc 2 girl who barely can fight and run again B rank monster got S Rank sage certificate?

So I've reread the chapter again and in no way it says sages are exceptional in combat. Just smartass that can master all elements.
While this is me nitpicking but you can master each element, you can at least defeat things with relative ease w/o the need of combat experience.
While I'm aware that combat is scary and w/o practical training, you can in shock but... For a title that only appears 200 years or so, why so weak?

yeah that my point. i mean if a hundred year only talent like that, what normal mage capabilities is? it more make sense if they are S class Student in Academy only. and being called sage candidates instead. not as literal sage like that.

Maybe it's because of how long ago it has been since the last Sage was named that the standards of the title that came with it don't come to par with the current trends in this series' setting?

To go into it further, yes, they may be able to cast all kinds of magic, that's an achievement of itself, but what about how they can be applied practically in real-world settings? What about further continuing the advancement of magical research? What about making a great contribution to society as a whole with their magic? We don't know if the Sages of the past were capable of that much in feats.

To me, getting the title of 'Sage' here seems like it is almost no different to getting a Bachelor's from a community college. You got the education and practical training in the field of your interest, certainly, but now you must step into the real world, get a career, and make something of the education you painstakingly gathered, something that more than 60% of the American population has failed to accomplish within the last decade or so (myself included).

It's really no different with these girls who could have learned most of what they need of magic from the books they've read and just become adventurers the long way by getting old enough to register, much like how a truck driver only needs a high-school diploma and a certain driver's license to work as one.

It's not even just that there is a difference between "mastering magic" and being able to use it properly. Sages probably took 30-40 years to master magic so that by the time they have learned it all to become a "sage" they would have a wealth of experience behind them. These girls are prodigies who basically could master magic without effort. So the lifetime of experience they should have gained along with the learning of spells isn't present.
There is a character in the game Breath of Fire 2 called "Katt" and starting at level 11 or she starts getting end game spells "Bolt X, Hail and Flame" however she cannot use those spells because she lacks the MP to do so until far later in the game when she gets an appropriate ability pool. In the daughters case it's somewhat similar. They have access to the spells but lack the decision making that would come from time in order to use them effectively.
It's also a lot like using a wish spell with high intelligence but low wisdom in AD&D games. intellegence lets you cast the spell but wisdom lets you phrase the wish to prevent mistakes or monkey's paw wishes. Both girls have high int low wis most likely.
