Wait I forgot, why do the creators is so hell bent on killing her before the game scenario even begins? Like if she died way too early, then who's playing the villainous role in the game then? Seems like a weird and confusing plothole :wtf:

I came into this series expecting a normal villainess story, but discovered nothing but pain.

I'd imagine just different routes not needing her involved and/or shitty writing. They still have to get rid of her because of "plot" then, so she's not involved at the academy and stuff.

The game appears to retroactively change the backstory depending on what route they are one from the heroines point of view. so the villainess will only show up for a few specific routes, and otherwise be confirmed dead. Which is still kinda stupid if the backstory differs between play troughs, but it is the best explanation I have.

Once she takes over her sister's role as fiancee, the setting that she must die began kicking in early. It's not so much the creators intention as it is a result of the algorithm that requires her sister to die. No longer being the fiancee means she has no purpose anymore.

Our little hacker NPC has become a massive bug in the game, in other words.

The utter nightmare this must be for her, to relive her loved one death again and again I'm surprised she isn't broken is some ways (at least visibly at this moment)

Tanks for the food
Oh, she's broken, alright. I'd even go so far as to say that she's right up there with Remilia from The One Within the Villainess. Her entire moral compass revolves around her sister. Everything else takes a backseat. And that's why we love her: we were in the front seat with her, seeing exactly what made her that way.

At what point is she going to transcend the story to kill the publishers, because that's the ultimate logical conclusion of Madoka meets The One Within the Villainess. Because simply killing god inside her world isn't enough.

I think something that's really sad about Sophina is that it's taken her, what, hundreds of years to reach this point? And she's accumulated a lot of power and experience, but Layla is such a prodigy that I'm pretty sure Sophina hasn't actually surpassed her academically. And Layla could probably outpace her magically too. It's wild how the devs created such an unbelievably overpowered character like Layla and then had to cut her.
