This is definitely an interesting concept, and I'm actually quite intrigued with the story so far. Everyone probably has some moments of doubt with their own foundation in one gender or another, but I've never seen too many in-depth explanations of the process like this one. It's also just nice overall to get some non-binary representation, since I feel like their voices are often left behind when it comes to talking about gender.

An ex boyfriend of mine (he was FtM) had already had this done when I was seeing him. Apart from the noticeable scarring it was effective and he was glad that he could go shirtless during the Summer.

I'm glad this mentions about how expensive it is to be Trans, people frequently ignore the financial cost of transitioning. Then of course there are the gatekeepers and peoples reactions you have to deal. Cis people really have no idea how much it sucks to be Trans :(

I’m sorry to say, but if you think the solution to concerns over your sex is cutting off your genitals/organs, you have a mental illness. You need therapy and counseling.
I’m curious if you think the same about a woman who decides to get breast implants because she feels it will improve her figure. If that’s allowed I don’t see why this shouldn’t be. Especially when you consider the fact that people are far more likely to regret a plastic surgery they got for aesthetic purposes rather than gender affirming purposes. Gender affirming care is not only a want, but a necessity for those that are trans. It’s their body, it doesn’t affect you

Well I don’t advocate for breast implants, so this argument is null. Please don’t sugar coat self-mutilation as “care”, it’s vile. If I see a person attempting to harm themself, I will not be a bystander. If someone is struggling with their gender, they can receive therapy from a medical professional to help overcome their dissonance.

I’m happy to have read this. As an Asian nonbinary individual with similar transition goals this was highly informative and relatable (like the part about one’s ability to use a hot spring post surgery). I hope others can read this material as purely anecdotal and listen rather than judge the author’s experience(especially since they stated plainly in the epilogue that it wasn’t an endorsement, like come on! How more obvious do they need to be?) and thank you to the scanulation team for their efforts as well. 🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻
