Normally, I would agree but I'm a little unsure with this one. If it was before Karin was introduced then yes, I would have preferred he develop something with Syrup. I'm not the type that thinks "I like a female character so she MUST love the mc" but I do have doubts about most japanese WN authors ability to write an early introduced girl into another relationship or just moving on with their own life and not being a tagalong fangirl. I doubt even more japanese WN readers ability to accept such a scenario.

There was one LN awhile back that I think did it decently that I enjoyed but some readers threw a fit. Boy was isekai'd but before the god could even be seen by him he was LAUNCHED, just straight THROWN as a PROJECTILE into the weakspot of the evil dragon he was summoned to kill, killing it. The girl that was going to be sacrificed then helped him to adjust to the new world, teaching him and introducing him to an older adventurer man (around 25-35 yo) that he became friends with and that man's hot witch mother. His relationship with the first girl ended up as more little brother/older sister and he helps her and her fiancé get together while he goes off with his friend's hot witch mom. I was perfectly happy with this, but some readers just didn't accept that the first girl expressed her gratitude by helping him out and not falling in love with him and the translation died off soon after.
I'd also like if he had at least something going with Syrup, she deserves it for sticking by him through thick and thin. But also, that isekai you are talking about sounds so goddamn familiar that i know for a fact I used to read it, but can't recall it at all. Any idea what the name was?

ooo, managed to find it. 'A Dragon Slayer's Everyday Life' or 'Ryugoroshi no Sugosuhibi'. I think there used to be another translator besides the one listed on novel updates. I think they were the one doing the LN translation of Aim for the deepest part of the labyrinth and Because Janitor-san is not a Hero but I can't quite remember or find them.

It looks like they're just gonna have Karin become the typical skinny/athletic waifu type, would have been better if she kept her roundness.

Round things are cute
🤞 "No matter what I do I can't seem to lose this baby fat!" She pouted cutely while eating a caramel flan. ✨

I can think of a few examples of this.

The story is all over the place and too naive. Especially donating the money to the orphanage. If the MC is worried about his financial stability in the future, investing the money in something should be his first priority. Besides, even in this day and age, donating money is foolish, I can only imagine how bad a choice it is to do the same in a medieval society. There's no telling how the money will be spent unless it's spent by you or someone you trust. Not to mention that there is no way for the director of the orphanage to protect the gold. And once the people know that the MC is a weak-willed philanthropist, there will be no end to the begging.

She is a noble, she is cute, she is great at cooking, like very good at that.

Can't waste this chance.
You're right. To be an ideal wife she has fulfilled many important aspects. Of course we must not miss it. Moreover, she is very polite and cute

I just hope I don’t have to wait months for a new chapter like it is with the dozen or so manga like this…

I see the artist decided to skip the parts of the webnovel that mentioned incestual love.
….The what now?

He is investing. It’s a donation sure, but it’s to improve the life, health and education of impressionable children. It’s raising the quality of life for his domain, as well as the far more important goodwill and loyalty to him personally.

Also, I doubt anyone would try to scam an orphanage backed by a duke, or misuse the funds he provides (through his son). Finally, he’s also using them to get better at healing magic. That will garner further goodwill and exposure (the real kind, not modern day influencer bs), while being onsite to monitor progress.

What's interesting about this one is the mc is creating opportunities and chances of his own, no prearranged fiance, no prearranged things that may happen in the future. How he just do it with the intent to be sloth is a nice change also.
