Dragon girl shows up, which just leaves the blonde heterochromatic girl as a key art focus.

So his family doesn't just show up occasionally, but we have an airhead dragon right there in class. That possibly changes dynamics.

I have another problem though: The headmaster was allowed to tell the royal families and the highest nobles about Iren's test - exactly the people whose children are gathered in this classroom.
With literally the fate of humanity at stake I'd imagine these children would have been thoroughly drilled to present their best side, yet that doesn't seem to be the case. It's not as if there wasn't enough time, as Iren was able to return home and study up on etiquette and history.

I was trying to think about that as well and figure out "why" -- best I could think was just the parents have been told.

That sounds like a recipe for literal disaster though. Let the entirety of humanity be judged by their most snobbish and elitist specimens. The headmaster should be smarter than that.

Maybe even though the kids are part of the royal families and highest nobles, they're not 'officially' royals and nobles in the grand scheme of things yet, and so warning their children about humanity's impending doom may be considered a 'leak' that the dragons will use as an excuse to wipe them out entirely. They don't want to take such a chance for a short path to the end of their lives.

Even if the dragons didn't specify it to that extent, there's no way any of them can go over there to confirm it, not after someone from their kind tested the dragons' patience for the last time (which I will say, very patient and tolerant of them to endure, almost godlike, but yeah, their fury and vengeance up to now is justified). None of them want to risk their hide to speak to the dragons under diplomacy (I don't think anybody knows how bad humans are more than those who stand at the top, i.e. the few 'sensible' elite), so the best they can do is show by example that Iren is someone that should not be angered under any means necessary and pray to God (the only entity that stands above dragons, I reckon) that their idiot children will follow their demonstration.

Ngl, I'll chuckle a little if the king of the country lowers his head before Iren in front of everyone, including his (probably idiot) son, the crown prince, apologizing for his misdemeanor toward him.

Is this all of chapter 2, and not just a 2.1? Seems to end so abruptly.

Honestly given that the academy is supposedly the trial ground and the teachers, examiners, and all children openly disrespected him because he wasn't a "noble" should be enough to conclude that they ain't worth saving.

spoiler: obviously, the kid will declare that humanity will not be wiped and he will do a generic speak or the kid will just be in a very bad state but he will still do the generic speak, if the author finds out that no one will like that ending beforehand, we may get something actually good, for now we are on shit

I fully support the decision to eradicate all of humanity
there are good and bad commoners and nobles
its easier to just eradicate the entire lot and start anew
just saying, we just need to wipe down all politics and homeless people, we only need to keep the commoners that have things like shops and houses and a job, that's it (you are giving me Thanos vibes 🤣)

i honestly wish the author opts to eradicate humanity with the boy only living with his select people. much better

Unless this Iren guy was a reincarnated person, I don't see how he's giving them exception after exception. He should, by all accounts, be thinking things out as a DRAGON not as a human. He shouldn't give a flying fuk if they're wiped out (again, if he was never related to other humans, aka, reincarnated). So, yeah, massive plothole with the mcs basic logic base if he's just some normal human. It outta answer if he was reincarnated in the next chapter or two. We'll see if this is even worth putting my time into. If the logic is actually that skewed, then, no, this isn't worth even a single afterthought, let alone, a full read.

Was reading until now and… “oh no, another one of those, what a drag”. Good luck to you readers, hopefully for you this stops being a drag of a manga.
