I wanted to like it because the villain looks cool and the drawing is nice but sometimes when the art is excellent the story sucks. I dropped it on Cho 3. Dull and uninteresting.

Save yourself the time, this series ends like shit. This author can write an interesting hook but the wheels always start falling of around the midpoint.

Its also excessively melodramatic at times.

It's like how most isekai novels have a decent start, but take a nosedive after the first couple of arcs, this author just manages to last longer.

I'm a sucker for these types of stories but I always end up pretty disappointed since they often don't commit to the premise (or become sloppy later on) and change in a way that honestly doesn't feel natural

Hope this one won't disappointment me in 60 chapters

Yeah the novel should have ended at least 50ch earlier. Perfectly bittersweet though like the darkest of chocolates.
Also euphrene is literally one of the worst characters I’ve read. She’s obviously the author’s favourite, and SO MUCH pointless conflict would have been avoided if she had died before the story started.

Hell having OG Deculain kill her before hand probably would have made the story actively better. She’s just a worse more deus ex machina version of Sylvia. I think it’s a point against against what is arguably the lead female/secondary protagonist when removing that character from a situation ALWAYS results in a better/more interesting story.

If this manage to hold up to its novel counterpart, this should be a good read.

This isn’t going to be able to support its own weight in the future. They’ve dropped too much of the foundational world building.

They are moving the plot along so quick you don’t feel that months have passed. So much of his later cleverness is supposed to be set up in these early chapters. Actually important slow moments of him figuring out how the world works.

Their habit of jumping “10 minutes back” for every new event is going to feel like a cheap cop out when they need to flashback to months and years ago to explain the end of the book.

The biggest thing the’ve skipped is the lesson where he realizes how strong his manipulation has grown. Only two students pass and that magic stone euphrane gets is pretty useful in the story.

They seem to be skipping all of the lessons in fact. Which is going to bite them in the ass when no one know how the magic works, and we don’t really see how his reputation is shifting.

On the translation side, crimson-blooded is so wrong it’s already affecting the plot, and will interfere with a major plot beat later. They are called demon-blooded for a reason. That phrase instantly explains why everyone hates them so much. It also make his “you are human” hit harder.

TL : DR
5/10: it’s got the same shape, and most of the characters fit their sparse book descriptions, but this is not going to be able to go the distance with how much they are cutting out. The heavy cutting should happen later but at this rate there will be nothing left by then.
