Well, those chapters will happen and people did complain about the NTR, BUT volume 8 and 9 were the bestselling volumes out the door, and went into reprint almost immediately. They propelled the series into an infamous status. I personally think this series would have been canceled by now had he not gone down this road. So, I don’t think he wrote all that extra crap as a make-up, but more to milk the series more. But, that is just my guess.

So... I decided to spend some time with this manga today after realizing it already has 15 volumes out. At first, I was like, “HOW?” But then the answer hit me pretty quickly. Erotica? Yep. Total dumpster fire? Yep. It probably sells like crack. So I looked into how the physical volumes are doing. Here are the estimated first-month sales figures for each volume, based on Shoseki Ranking data:

As expected, even though it's past its peak, sales are still solid. Plus, it’s been doing well on the Shoseki Ranking—the last 9 volumes have all stayed within the top 200 (out of 500). Also, I recently did the same thing with Aitsu no Kanojo, and it was brought to my attention that, according to the author, the total number of sales (physical + digital) for the latest volume is 10 times higher than the number of physical copies. So yeah, we can say the sales are extremely good.

As it was said. There is no damage control, as number of complains was massively outshined by increased sales. So author started milking series with so callend "Part 2" of story. Nothing is taken back, just the author loosened his focus on minor things as he can affort it now.
