Why can't he lock it relative to the ship. So, it can't be moved on the ship's deck, but it will move with the ship.
It's important to remember that he is not casting the spell himself, but using a magic tool. This means that the imagination used for the spell needs to have been imbued into the tool itself and is not entirely malleable to the situation, as anyone can use the tool not just people with the magic themselves. If he was to cast the spell himself I imagine it'd be theoretically possible to account for that, but he'd need to have the right imagination and understanding which may be tricky if he needs to have a full understanding of how the boat is moving at all times to maintain it. Heck, the spell as it's currently constructed might even hinge upon the idea that space fully 'stops' within the barrier, and trying to accomplish something more relative may require crafting a new spell entirely.

I understand them not getting into the more cosmic elements which raise questions on this front as since it's not confirmed that's happening here, it'd probably be very hard for the residents of this world to believe, and explaining it to Aura may inherently even make it impossible for her to hold the proper image in her mind to ever cast a space isolating barrier ever again which would raise problems both immediate (make the creation of such a magic tool impossible) and long-term (as she could not use such magic to keep herself safe in the future). This sort of magic has also likely been used before, otherwise Aura would not trust it to keep the MC safe, so it's relatively proven that such large scale factors do not change it, instead MC focused on the fact that this magic probably hasn't been cast upon a boat (due to how difficult concentration would be there) of large enough size where this would be a problem and proposed theories that, if correct, mean that he needs to be careful how he uses the magic. This tool is largely designed for his use once they actually reach the Northern continent anyways so taking these sort of 'worst case scenarios' into and treating them like truth (since there's too much at stake to do scientific experiments on the veracity of these concerns) seems reasonable here I'd say.

For some reason the harem just goes naturally in this story. Way better than some typical obviously cliche harems. I didn’t even expect polygamy, and somehow it happened and it just doesn’t trigger any “ugh” reaction in me. That’s how good it is.

Anyways, the barrier thing is kinda a problematic thing though. So like, it anchors into the fabric of space-time itself? Inertia would be crazy. You could technically stay in the air. Heck, stand in a train, and you’d probably kill everyone.

They're making a southern-continent mutual defense treaty, but in Harem form. Kind of funny and kind of plausible.

Not sure how binding the marriages would be. It's easy for a nation to sacrifice one concubine/hostage when it's in the nation's interests.

I can't be the only one thinking of "invasion on twin kingdoms" instead of "eyy another harem member!" at the end.

It’s such a strange dynamic to have his wife setting him up with an international harem of baddies for political gain. It’s written in a way that’s believable but it’s also a bit tough to swallow.

Neither the queen nor the MC actually want him to have other women, and they’re a couple who dearly love each other, so it hits different than the typical isekai harem story. They’re both sacrificing their own desires and in return she gets to strengthen her country and personal power, while he gets… well lots of nice boing boing

The idea of a harem is pretty hard to imagine when looking at European monarchies, where politics were strongly tied to Christian churches that didn’t allow polygamy. This is outside my knowledge, but maybe we should look into how things worked in India and China to get an idea of how politics worked with arranged marriages involving multiple wives and concubines.

It shouldn't be one of the four Duke envoys because selecting them over one of the Royal family would give them too much political power, and could lead to a coup attempt.

Based on the way the story has been pushing her into the foreground, it's going to be the girl that's been trying to seduce the MC on the entire trip to the Twin Kingdoms.
Wife candidate must be one from Royal family because Zenjiro want to 'steal' bestowal magic.

It's normal for Royal in East Asia to take concubine from minor states for political reasons, for example, King Rama V of Thailand have 152 wives, many of them were for political reason either for local politics or international politics.

My computer crashed while finalizing this chapter, sorry for the delay folks.

Which girl would you pick from the Twin Kingdoms if you were Zenjirou? Bona? Lucy? Or the four duke's envoys?
If it was up to me, I’d pick Princess Margarita, but she’s already married.
Also Lucy’s head might explode if he picked her older sister over her.

This is an interesting balance to have.
"Oh noes, I'm forced to have a diverse harem through no fault of my own" vs "um, I'm actually inconvenienced by this".

This story does tend to err towards realism, so we might actually see some of the actual balancing of wants and needs that would be required to make a harem situation work, rather than just have it focus on the fantasy. That could be interesting.

The space anchor tool makes no sense, given that the planet moves. The area of effect should be centered around the tool, wherever it is.

Anyway, who do you think it's going to be? Given Zenzhirou's tastes, Margarita would be the top choice, but she's already married. Author, please don't let Lucy happen, she's awful.

I’m surprised they have not talked about having a teleportation tool for offensive use.
Imagine having it set up to go to deep underground or under the sea, or more peacefully, inside a jail cell, the tool then can be “armed” and then thrown, after a few seconds, it will then take everything inside its radius away, just like a grenade.

I’m sure that would be very hard to make, but also be very powerful and scary.
Similarly for the space isolating one in regards to the vehicles. 😁 (Or a smaller scale one against individuals - if it only freezes part of the body in place.)

Aw man... please don't take the annoying Lucrezia girl as your concubine.
You know the rules of the harem… at least one ditzy/clumsy girl :haa:

Not that there aren’t well written ones, but yeah this one isn’t the most likable, but that might be a difference between western and Japanese audiences.

Edit: I wrote dizzy instead of ditzy…
