Going by the volume cover, that's not impossible (though I'd say his mother's hair is closer to dirty blonde than silver); look at the maid in the background. Her hair is almost the exact same color.

So is the maid actually his mother? Looking back at the chapter I don’t see anything indicating that he was actually birthed by the mom. It’s kind of weird that she would be so affectionate to her husband’s bastard child though. The maid is also on the cover and when he was meeting his family she was there too so maybe she is his mother?

Could be one of several things. Maid could be his birth mother, but isn't allowed to actually have kids for whatever reason, so the lord and his wife adopted him.

Maid could be the lord's concubine and the wife's best friend, so the wife treats him as if he were her own; especially plausible if this is one of those settings where polygamy is allowed.

It could be that he was actually abandoned (or orphaned), they found him, took him in, and decided to treat him like their real child, ala Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou Deshita.
