But i gotta say, i still do not understand the strategy behind aiming to be popular to get with your crush. Especially if you dont firmly deny your fanclub and do stuff like the "i like you" in this chapter. That just seems contraproductive to me.
Also "even though he belongs to me" when you havent even told other people that youre interested in him is an interesting way of thinking

Not only was this backstory weird, but I feel like nothing would have changed if we never learned this either way.

I mean as a whole, premise already doesn't make any sense apart from dragging it out. She is VERY in love with him but actively works against herself with teasing shit while being aware of it all. MC is not some ignorant chicken shit either, one word from her and they are together.

My benchmark for a manga is if I remember the characters and the plot by the time the next issue arrives. This one passes with flying colours. It may not be the best handled story and Japanese humour is sometimes just plain weird, but at its heart is a couple of likable kids with good chemistry. I can be here for that alone.
