Yeah, I really like how this was handled for the most part. not too happy with her refusal to talk about things but the drama wasn't a non-issue nothing burger resolved in one chapter, but it also wasn't drug out to the point it was tiresome.

I also appreciated Mom's reaction. She doesn't think her daughter is fitting in at school in Japan and that's why she's skipping so might as well bring her to America where she can keep an eye on her. Discovers her daughter has made a life for herself, immediately reverses course while also planning for a guardian to keep an eye on her. Maximum parental responsibility.
