The villainess reveals herself?
Idunno, between the fact that she's still there and is trying to stop more spirit contractors from being created, as well as the fact that she corrected herself from "killed" to "broke", I'mma wager a guess:

Her father was so tired of living as an immortal and seeing everyone around them live and die and the ages pass, that he wanted to die. But as a spirit contractor who is immortal in the extreme sense that they will even regenerate from any bodily damage, he had to be "destroyed" in a way that he's at least not conscious, i.e. parts of the brain scattered in different places in a way that it will at least take a very long time for said brain matter to make its way back and regenerate (in lead boxes, for instance)

But ye, just a guess :pepehmm:

it's been a while since i read the LN so i'm quite excited reading this part in manga form since anime ver. skip a lot of thing, but if i'm not remembering wrong

since they basically turned into spirit, their soul can become corrupted as well, thus turning them insane or evil from the world influence if they have no one as pillar for their soul or something that can keep their spirit uncorrupted

I just think it's a case of he went insane after living too long and he needed to be put down. And she's afraid she might be reaching that point so she wants another Spirit contractor to kill her before she does something bad.
Maybe...but at the same time she will "curse" someone else to enter that state and become the problem (much) time later.
So they'll have to find a way to break the cicle, I suppose, instead of continuing it

(also I still believe that the heroine will oppose her s.o. to become immortal)

It's also that their wishes (which is what is needed to enter into a spirit covenant in the first place) can become twisted by outside influence if the wish was too grand or general. In the case of the first king, it was along the lines of "Protect and grant the wishes of my kingdom's people" with no limits or checks. People's greed kept abusing that wish until Lumi had to step in once and for all.

I like this. The Anime, while decent, doesn't justified the ending literally.

Huh... I don't remember the anime doing this huge discharge of plot... And if it did, I don't think it was like this.

Still awesome, nonetheless.

Actually it is wrong.
Sprint Contract major problem is that it binds contractor into their wish making them see nothing but their wish. So basically if you did "Sprint Contract" with the wish of "making money", you will see nothing but making money and there's no end to it.

Thank you for the chapter! Judging by his condition in that last panel, "broke" certainly seems an apt descriptor.

well, i did say if i didn't remember wrong, since it's been a while that i read the LN and manga update is super slow, a while as in like 2 or 3 years ago? lol

but i do kind of remember that

they do able to get corrupted, no? since when they made the contract, it's not like they're doing it with bad intention, iirc, they do it with good intention of helping the kingdom if i'm not wrong

Oh, some lore. I'm most interested in seeing why the immortal founding monarch had to be "broke." Went insane after too many lifetimes/too much power? Got tired of life after all his loved ones died? Huh, those are both Dr. Manhattan scenarios.
