It can only go 1:5 like this if something drastic happened like a global pandemic that only affected men or a world war that went on for decades since most soldiers are men.

It's possible, actually. All you need is an external factor that tends to kill or convert 80% of male fetuses. Like maybe there's a retrovirus that inserts itself into the X chromosome and produces both a long-lived poison and a short-lived antidote to it. Then a gamete that drops the wrong X chromosome would tend to die.
Or a gene driver, or other meta-gene.

That's what I said. Unless some virus or any external factor that only affects men happens, this is pretty much impossible to happen with naturally.

English chapters are dropping at glacial pace so read ahead in the web novel, ngl this manga really loses any potential "bite" that I was getting excited about...which seems to happen often in Yandere manga if I'm being honest

First Girl/Best friend: The best friend finds out her "prince charming" is the MC and the two immediantly go the route of sharing between them. There's no shennigans about the first girl doing her best to keep her friend from figuring out/ sabatoging the search, no stand off between them, no drama whatsoever.
Buisness Woman: Coworkers try to convince her she's just getting played by a Host and she...doubles down on that aspect and becomes some kind of sugar mama? That whole bit of her seeing the MC helping the other girl and feeling like her prince was being stolen/ She's just a no good mob character is just glossed tf over and she more or less "ye, you can fuck with other girls as long as you keep coming back to me to be pampered, here's an expensive tie btw"
Sports girl, emphasis on "girl" this time because she is a middle schooler: Straight up sexually assaults the dude, pretty sure they go all the way, and there's actually no repurcussion from it...in fact it becomes her "running gag." None of the other girls find out, the dude just blushes it off and shows no backbone in the matter, in the little loli just goes on stealing seed...the only girl to do so.

I don't really like these plots, and having read the first chapter, it seems to me the author didn't think basically at all about how society would be different if only about 15% of the population were male. Even if we assume it had developed to modern technological and organizational standards regardless, nobody would be talking about "enacting polygamy," that would be the assumed default, and boys would not be treated the same as girls, because they're so much more rare and absolutely essential to continuing civilization they would be treated very preferentially and given all sorts of benefits. Gender norms would be completely different, relationship preferences and behaviors would be completely different, and men wouldn't really care about "conquering women" because women would probably be throwing themselves at men all the time hoping to secure a high status spot so it wouldn't be difficult. Basically none of what is in this story is anything like how the world would be, 1:39 is literally a gag manga and it has done a better job at representing how the world would actually be anyway.

i remember this one nice also yeah when it comes to some niche ideas you gotta be willing to be flexible.
even worse is when you do find something that fits your niche and it ether gets abandoned or the niche is background noise that occasionally pops up.
