I either read the ln or wn chapters but this sure is taking a different approach that I rather much like more. Since from what I read it was focusing on dealing with his family issues and then hers.
But this is much better

The manga is following the LN, which is drastically different from the WN.

Her mom's a monster and her sister is a clingy psycho. It's a miracle she's relatively well-adjusted.

It also helps put into perspective that the ML is kind of an asshole because he has a good family but treats it like a burden.

Stepsis does it again, by being outwardly helpful but only after making it perfectly clear that she's way too in tune with what he thinks he's keeping secret (calling out immediately that running away with her would be SOP for him.)

Kinda surprised the big sister turned out nuts - figured that opposing mom implied she would be okay, but it turns out it's a battle to out-crazy her.

Its largely psychological but yea ive seen it irl. Sheltered teenaged kids can be under such suffocating parenting.

One of my best friend has a very neurotic overprotective mother that would call him if he is literally more than 3 minutes later after 8pm. Like clockwork shed call to make sure he is in his apartment while at uni or to ask why is he so late out.
