Yeah but I don't think he tried to move on from Hikari while he was dating Yami, one thing would be to keep on having feelings for Hikari and choosing to date Yami in order to move on, but I don't think that's what he did, imo he never had any intention of moving on from Hikari, he was either going with the flow or dating Yami simply cause of the sex without actually giving much thought to Yami's feelings regarding their relationship, he probably was just using Yami just as much as she was using him, which would just mean both of them are a mess.

However we do know that their relationship was pretty meaningful to Yami, that he continued to allow Yami to escalate their relationship without noticing neither how it was becoming more meaningful to her, neither how it didn't make sense to continue on this path while still harboring feelings towards Hikari, are the reasons why I think poorly of him.

Anyone can start a relationship with someone they don't have feelings for if they want, however continuing with that relationship as that other person starts to develop feelings you won't reciprocate is a dick move.

We need a 12 chapter long flashback arc with his pov frfr

I agree with the sentiment, but we don't know what's on his mind for now. Also, those things develop with time, going on dates or having a lover to have a change of pace is a thing and is not like he is moving from a grimm past or he being a shitty person or anything like that, he was dejected about his first crush.

We don't know how things would evolve since everything broke apart, but to assume his relationship with Yami was not significant for him is a big stretch and a mean assumption. We don't know, but it's not like he is a playboy or something. Is like bashing Yami for ""stealing"" Yuu during the flashback.

I dont really understand this comment section tbh. My personal theory atm is that, like I guessed before, Yami kissed him, not the other way around. She came onto him, but he had moved passed her after she ghosted him (probably not entirely, because author loves drama, but mostly). I think his confession here is sincere. But who knows.

I don’t have a problem with Yami having a previous relationship. Its not like he was dating his crush. What I do have a problem with however is his lying. He turns up late to meeting Hikari, so late that they miss going around together around the different stalls. When he turns up late he makes up an excuse, one that (unfortunately for him) Hikari knows is a lie.

Then, he dumps his confession on her, knowing that she is upset.

The guy is an ass, pure and simple. Maybe Hikari says yes, but if she does without confronting him their relationship is doomed.
